GF80.45-P-0003FL Convenience Feature (CF), Function
Function requirements, general
^ Power window normalized
^ Tilting/sliding roof (with code (414)
Electric glass tilting/sliding roof) or panoramic sliding roof (with code (413) Panoramic glass sunroof with top sliding sunroof) normalized
Convenience feature (CF), general
The following components can be opened and closed centrally with the CF with the transmitter key (A8/1) and the air recalculation button (N22/7s2):
- Side Windows
- Tilting/sliding roof or panoramic sliding roof
On vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go, the side windows, the tilting/sliding roof or panoramic sliding roof can be closed additionally over the following control points:
- Left front KEYLESS GO door handle (A17/1)
- Right front KEYLESS GO door handle (A17/2)
- Left rear KEYLESS GO door handle (A17/3)
- Right rear KEYLESS GO door handle (A17/4)
On vehicles with code (401) Front comfort seats including seat heater and seat ventilation, the seat ventilation is also activated when opening.
The CF comprises the following subfunctions:
^ Function sequence for CF via transmitter key
^ Function sequence for convenience feature via air recirculation function (without code (494) USA version)
^ Function sequence for convenience feature via KEYLESS GO door handle (with code (889) Keyless Go)
Additional function prerequisites for convenience feature via transmitter key
- C. 15C OFF
- Doors closed
- Press lock or unlock button on transmission key for t > 2 s (transmitter key points in direction of driver side front infrared remote control receiver (A26/1))
Function sequence for convenience feature via transmitter key
The signal from the transmitter key is received by the infrared remote control receiver and relayed to the left front door control unit (N69/1).
The left front door control unit transmits the signal "Comfort opening" or "Comfort closing" to the following control units via the interior CAN (CAN B) according to the request:
- Right front door control unit (N69/2)
- Left rear door control unit (N69/3)
- Right rear door control unit (N69/4)
- Overhead control panel control unit (N70) (with code (414) Power glass tilting/sliding sunroof) or
- Panoramic sliding roof control module (A98) (with code (413) Panoramic glass sunroof with top sliding sunroof)
- Rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
The left front door control unit actuates the left front door power window motor (M10/3).
The right front door control unit actuates the left front door power window motor (M10/4).
The left rear door control unit actuates the left rear door power window motor (M10/5)
The right rear door control unit actuates the right rear door power window motor (M10/6)
The overhead control panel control unit actuates the titling/sliding roof (M12m1).
The panoramic sliding roof control unit actuates the panoramic sliding roof motor (A98m1)
On vehicles with panoramic roof, the roller sun blind is opened before the panoramic sunroof is opened with the convenience feature. The panoramic sunroof is opened only after a new opening request.
With convenience closing, the roller sun blind is actuated only after the panoramic sunroof is closed completely or when a new request is present.
The panoramic sliding roof control unit actuates the panoramic sliding roof roller sun blind drive unit (M12/5)
On vehicles with code (401) Front comfort seats, including seat heating and seat ventilation:
During comfort opening, the rear SAM control unit switches the seat ventilation to stage 3 over the left front seat ventilation blower regulator (N29/5) and right front seat ventilation blower regulator (N29/6).
The left front seat ventilation blower regulator actuates the left front seat cushion seat ventilation motors (M18/9) and right front seat backrest seat ventilation motors (M18/10)
The right front seat ventilation blower regulator actuates the left front seat cushion seat ventilation motors (M18/11) and the right front seat backrest seat ventilation motors (M18/12)
The seat ventilation is shut off during comfort closing.
With version coding it is possible to set whether the seat ventilation is activated for the driver seat only or for both front seats.
Additional function sequence for convenience feature via air recirculation function (without code (494) USA version)
^ Circuit 15 On
^ Air recirculation mode button pressed for t > 1 s (for comfort opening when components are closed)
^ Air recirculation mode button pressed for t > 1.5 s (for comfort opening when components are open)
Function sequence for convenience feature via air recirculation function (without code (494) USA version)
Comfort opening and closing is actuated via the air recirculation switch. The air recirculation button is read in by the automatic air conditioning control and operating unit (N22/7) and is transmitted via the interior CAN to the following control units:
- Left front door control unit
- Right front door control unit
- Left rear door control unit
- Right rear door control unit
- Overhead control panel control unit or panoramic sliding roof control unit
The previous positions of the side windows, the tilting/sliding roof and panoramic roof are stored during comfort closing. During the next comfort opening procedure, these are all moved back to the positions stored previously.
Actuation of individual components is described in chapter "Function sequence for comfort actuation via transmitter key".
Additional function prerequisites for convenience feature via Keyless-Go door handle (with code (889) Keyless-Go)
^ Circuit 15 Off
^ A valid transmitter key is located outside the vehicle and in the vicinity (s = 1 m) of the KEYLESS-GO door handle.
^ Doors closed and vehicle locked
^ Touching comfort sensor on outside of one of the KEYLESS GO door handles for t > 2 s
Function sequence for convenience feature via KEYLESS-GO door handle (with code (889) Keyless Go)
The KEYLESS-GO control unit (N69/5) reads in the signals from the comfort sensors and transmits the request "Comfort closing" via the interior CAN to the following control units:
- Left front door control unit
- Right front door control unit
- Left rear door control unit
- Right rear door control unit
- Overhead control panel control unit or panoramic sliding roof control unit
Actuation of individual components is described in chapter "Function sequence for comfort actuation via transmitter key".
Convenience closing is interrupted in the following cases:
- when another comfort sensor is touched,
- when the comfort sensor is no longer touched,
- After max. t = 90 s
- If another central locking command is present
If during comfort closed or max. t = 2 s after the same KEYLESS- GO door handle is pulled, the emergency opening function is activated. In this case, the windows, the tilting/sliding roof or the panoramic sliding roof are actuated in the opening direction. Actuation is performed for min. t = 2 s or as long as the KEYLESS GO door handle is pulled, max. for t = 90 s.
