Reason for change

Complaint:
The stowage compartment for the driver's/front passenger seat does not lock properly.

Cause:
The lid of the stowage compartment is not fully locked.

No component fault could be found on the stowage compartments.

Excessive pressure on the lid and cushion foam can prevent the lid from locking properly.

Remedy:
Retrofit trim panel as follows:

- Open stowage compartment lid

- Push trim panel all the way in between the cushion cover and the metal bracket with the flat side facing the cushion (see pictures in attachment)

- Perform function test

General operating note:

The lid must be pushed firmly into the lock

The release handle must be freely movable and must not be stressed

A soft clicking noise can be heard when it locks fully

Note:
Please check part availability prior to scheduling customer repair.
