Do not damage existing wiring harnesses and wiring harnesses to be newly installed by crushing or pinching them during routing and attachment.

Fold back floor covering (15) until electrical wiring harness (12) can be routed.
Position threshold switch (13), as shown, above parking brake pedal (14) so that threshold switch (13) can be glued onto parking brake cover.
Open cable duct along longitudinal member and route electrical wiring harness (12) to connection of left illuminated door sill molding in cable duct.
Route electrical wiring harness (12) to connection of right illuminated door sill molding between air conditioner housing and insulation mat via transmission tunnel.

Shown with floor covering removed.

Fasten threshold switch (13), as shown, above parking brake pedal (14) on parking brake cover (16) using velcro strip.
Route brown line (br) at existing wiring harness to left front footwell ground point (W15/5) and connect it.
A maximum of 5 connectors may be connected to a ground point.

Fasten brown line (br) at existing wiring harness using cable ties.
Fasten wiring harness (12) at existing wiring harness and at parking brake Bowden cable (17) using cable ties.
Route red line from threshold switch (13) at existing wiring harness through firewall to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module and fasten with cable ties.
Blue/white lines are connected to the left front footwell lamp at a later point.

Fold back floor covering (18) on passenger side.
Detach footrest (19) and place in rear with lines connected.
Fold floor covering (20) at transmission tunnel toward rear.
Guide electrical wiring harness (12) between air conditioner housing and insulation mat on transmission tunnel and route at existing wiring harness up to right cable duct.
Fasten electrical wiring harness (12) at existing wiring harness with cable ties.

Lift floor covering (20) until cable duct along longitudinal member is accessible.
Open cable duct and route wiring harness (12) to connection of right illuminated door sill molding in cable duct.
Install footrest.
Lower and position floor covering (20).

Disconnect orange 14-pin coupling (arrow A) at bottom of front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
Insert red line (rt) into contact cavity 6 (arrow B) of orange 14-pin coupling (arrow A).
Connect orange 14-pin coupling (arrow A) to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).

Remove black/blue line (sw/bl) of vehicle wiring harness from coupling housing (25) of left front footwell lamp.
Install black/blue line (sw/bl) in contact cavity 1 of the coupling housing (26) supplied and connect to connector (27) of blue/white line (bl/ws) of the vehicle wiring harness.
Install blue/white line (bl/ws) of wiring harness (12) in free slot of coupling housing (25) of left front footwell lamp.
Strap down blue/white lines (bl/ws) in driver footwell with cable tie far enough that coupling housing (25) can still be connected to left front footwell lamp.
