Component Identification:

Location
The rear door control units are located on the corresponding door module behind the door trim.

Task
The rear door control units have the following tasks:
^ Reading in of signals
^ Evaluation of input factors
^ Actuation of components

Reading in of signals
The input factors are read in with the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Left rear door LIN (LIN B9)
^ Right rear door LIN (LIN B10)
^ Interior CAN (CAN B)

Direct line
The following component is read in by the left rear door control unit via direct line:
- Left rear power window switch (S21/3)

The following component is read in by the right rear door control unit via direct line:
- Right rear power window switch (S21/4)

Left rear door LIN (LIN B9)
The following component is read in by left rear door control unit via the left rear door LIN:
- Left rear door analog/digital converter (N69/16) (transmission of signals for left rear seat heater switch (S51/3s2)) (with code (872) Left and right rear seat heater)

The right rear door control unit supplies the connected control elements with c. 58d.

Right rear door LIN (LIN B10)
The following sensor is read by the right rear door control unit via the right rear door LIN:
- Right rear door analog/digital converter (N69/17) (transmission of signals for right rear seat heater switch (S51/4s2)) (with code (872) Left and right rear seat heater)

The right rear door control unit supplies the connected control elements with c. 58d.

Interior CAN
The following signals are read in over the interior CAN: By the left front door control unit (N69/1):
- Requests to adjust power window lift (PW)

Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the affected components are then actuated.

Components are actuated with the following lines:
^ Direct line

Direct line
The following components are actuated directly by the left rear door control unit via a direct line:
- Left rear door central locking motor (A85/3m1)
- Left rear door additional door lock actuator motor (A85/3m4) (with code (833) Great Britain version)
- Left rear door exit and warning lamp (E17/5)
- Left rear door handle illumination (E17/13)
- Left rear door ambient illumination (E17/45) (with code (876) Interior light package)
- Left rear door power window motor (M10/5)

The following components are actuated directly by the right rear door control unit via a direct line:
- Right rear door central locking motor (A85/4m1)
- Right rear door additional door lock actuator motor (A85/4m4) (with code (833) Great Britain version)
- Right rear door exit and warning lamp (E17/6)
- Right rear door handle illumination (E17/14)
- Right rear door ambient illumination (E17/46) (with code (876) Interior light package)
- Right rear door power window motor (M10/6)
