Location
The special-purpose vehicle multifunction control unit is located in the trunk in front of the spare tire well.

Task
The special-purpose vehicle multifunction control unit has the following tasks:
- Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuating components

Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN (CAN B)
- Multifunction CAN (CAN K)

Direct line
The signals from the following components are read via a direct line:
- Taximeter (A50)
with code (336) Preinstallation for taximeter installation)
- Card reader and printer (A50/2) (accessories)
- "Cancel" button on taxi emergency alarm system (S62/5)
(with code (934) Taxi emergency alarm system)
- "Actuate" button on taxi emergency alarm system (S62/6)
(with code (934) Taxi emergency alarm system)
- Two-way radio link up switch (S93/2)
(with code (938) Preinstallation for handsfree two-way radio)

Interior CAN
The signals are read in by the special-purpose vehicle multifunction control unit via the interior CAN. The functions resulting therefrom are described in the corresponding function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).

Multifunction CAN
The signals are read in by the special-purpose vehicle multifunction control unit via the multifunction CAN. The functions resulting therefrom are described in the corresponding function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).

Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the affected components are then actuated.

Component actuation
Actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN
- Multifunction CAN

Direct line
The following component is actuated via a direct line:
- Roof sign lamp (E14/4)

- Taximeter
(with code (336) Preinstallation for taximeter installation)

Interior CAN
The signals are sent by the special-purpose vehicle multifunction control unit via the interior CAN. The functions resulting therefrom are described in the corresponding function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).

Multifunction CAN
The signals are sent by the special-purpose vehicle multifunction control unit via the multifunction CAN. The functions resulting therefrom are described in the corresponding function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
