Function
The status of the buttons of the button panels at the radio with auto pilot system is read in and provided to the central computer. The button operations are processed further in the central computer and forwarded via MOST, the telematics CAN and the interior CAN to the other system components in the form of messages. If the ON button on the radio with auto pilot system is pressed, the radio with auto pilot system switches on. The volume is regulated for each audio source set by turning the ON button. The function keys in the left-hand button panel are used to switch over to the audio source selected by the user.

Variants
The radio with auto pilot system is available in the following variants:
- Audio 50 with single DVD drive
(with code (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio) (without VCS [SBS])
- Audio 50 with DVD changer
(with code (511) Audio 50 APS with DVD changer) (with VCS [SBS])

Diagnosis
The radio with auto pilot system is the diagnosis gateway for all MOST subscribers. The diagnostic communication takes place between the radio with the auto pilot system and the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) via the interior CAN. The diagnostic communication between the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module and the diagnostic connector (X11/4) connected to the "IS tester" is performed via the diagnostic CAN (CAN D).
