1 Open lid of glove box (1).
2 Insert pliers (4) into housing (2) of glove compartment socket (X58/31) and remove housing (2) in direction of arrow (arrow A) from spring pin (3).
The jaws of the pliers (4) must be inserted into the cutouts of the housing (2) (arrows B).
The glove compartment socket (X58/31) is no longer required.






3 Unclip spring pin (3) from glove box (1) by pressing back catch hooks (arrows C) and remove.






4 Drill opening (arrow D) of glove compartment socket with a diameter of 35 mm.

5 Remove shavings from glove box (1).






6 Strap down wiring harness (5) of glove compartment socket and fix in place using cable ties (6).
7 Fix wiring harness (5) in place at main wiring harness below instrument panel using cable ties (6).
The wiring harness (5) must be fixed in place such that no noise can occur.






8 Set down glove box (1) in front passenger footwell.
9 Route glove box branch-off line (7) of taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness through drilled opening into glove box (1).
10 Insert grommet (8) in glove box (1).






11 Insert electrical connector for AUX connection (X39/45) or media interface electrical connector into the glove box (1) and lock.
12 Position glove box (1) and tighten with screws/bolts (9) and screws/bolts (arrows E).
