1 Connect black 32-pin coupling (15) of taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness (1) to special-purpose vehicle multifunction control unit (N26/9).
2 Connect black 14-pin coupling (16) of taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness (1) to special-purpose vehicle multifunction control unit (N26/9).
3 Fasten taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness (1) using cable ties (46) to the carrier plate (45).
4 Place radio data transmission branch-off line (1.1) and data transfer branch-off line (1.2) in spare wheel well.
5.1 Route black, 4-pin coupling (mobile radio antenna amplifier / compensator) (82), as shown, onto the carrier plate (45).
For vehicles with code (228) Stationary heater and without code (386) Comfort telephony.
The mobile radio antenna amplifier / compensator is connected to the black, 4-pin coupling (82) at a later stage.
5.2 Strap down black, 4-pin coupling (mobile radio antenna amplifier / compensator) (82) and fasten with cable ties to the taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness (1).
For vehicles without code (228) Stationary heater or with code (228) Stationary heater and with code (386) Comfort telephony.
The black, 4-pin coupling (82) is no longer required.
6 Open covers (48) on right wheel arch cable duct (47).
The right wheel arch cable duct (47) is located below the rear shelf on the C-pillar.
7 Route taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness (1) to right wheel arch cable duct (47).
8 Fasten taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness (1) to body using cable tie (49).
9 Fasten taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness (1) using cable ties (50) to right wheel arch cable duct (47).
10 Open covers (51) at right rear wheel arch cable duct.
11 Route the trunk branch-off line (1.4) with the brown, red/blue and red/yellow line into the right rear wheel arch cable duct and close covers (51).
12 Route taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness (1) into right wheel arch cable duct (47) and close covers on right wheel arch cable duct (47).
13 Open cable ducts (52, 55 and 56).
Remove cable tie (arrow A) from cable duct (55).
14 Completely remove fabric adhesive tape (53) from front passenger seat wiring harness (54) and detach front passenger seat wiring harness (54) from cable duct (52).
15 Unclip air ducts (57) and remove in direction of arrow (arrows B).
Press air ducts (57) down in area of crossmembers (58) to unclip them.
16 Route taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness (1), as shown, along vehicle wiring harness (60) in cable duct (56) towards the front.
17 Fasten taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness (1) using cable ties (59) to vehicle wiring harness (60).
18 Align taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness (1) in cable duct (56) and close cable duct (56).
19 Route taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness (1) into cable duct (55) and close cable duct (55).
20 Fasten wiring harness (61) of right B pillar using cable tie to cable duct (55) (arrow C).
21 Connect brown line of taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness (1) to ground point on right front seat crossmember (W19).
22 Route taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness (1) with branch-off lines for taximeter, roof sign lamp, two-way radio activation switch, taxi emergency alarm system "Trigger" button and taxi two-way radio speaker in direction of arrow (arrow D) to driver side.
The number of branch-off lines depends on the scope of the retrofitting.
23 Route taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness (1) with branch-off line for glove compartment two-way radio (1.3) and branch-off line for electrical connector on potential distributor for interior CAN on right of vehicle floor, mirror taximeter and the microphone for the taxi two-way radio in the direction of the arrow (arrow E) and forwards into the front passenger footwell.
The number of branch-off lines depends on the scope of the retrofitting.
24 Unclip and remove cover (62) from cable duct (64).
25 Unclip bracket (63).
26 Open left front entrance cable duct (65).
27 Route taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness (1) into cable duct (64).
28 Route branch-off line with black 2-pin connector (17) and the blue 4-pin connector (18), as shown, into the rear area of the propeller shaft tunnel.
29 Route taximeter branch-off line with white 2-pin coupling (32), blue 2-pin coupling (33) and black 18-pin coupling (34), as shown, below the instrument panel.
30 Route taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness (1) with blue 2-pin coupling for taxi two way radio speaker, black 2-pin coupling (roof sign lamp) and the black, 2-pin coupling for the "trigger" button for the taxi emergency alarm system in cable duct (64) and in left front entrance cable duct (65) to the driver footwell.
31 Clip in bracket (63).
32 Open cover (67) at center console cable duct (66).
33 Place taximeter branch-off line with white, 2-pin coupling (32), blue, 2-pin coupling (33) and the black, 18-pin coupling (34) into the center console cable duct (66).
34 Close cover (67) at center console cable duct (66).
35 Route the individual gray/blue line (gr/bl) of the taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness along the center console cable duct (66) to the white, 3-pin coupling (3) of the vehicle interior front power outlet.
36 Connect gray/blue line (gr/bl) of taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness with a potential distributor to the gray/blue line of the white, 3-pin coupling (3) of the vehicle interior power outlet.
The potential distributor is available in the wiring harness repair set.
37 Install cover (62).
38 Close cable ducts (52 and 65).
39 Open cable ducts (68 and 69).
40 Fasten front passenger seat wiring harness (54) using fabric adhesive tape onto the cable duct (52).
41 Place taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness (1) with branch-off line for taxi two-way radio speaker, roof sign lamp and taxi emergency alarm system "Trigger" button in left front entrance cable duct (68) (left picture).
42 Route taxi/rental vehicle wiring harness (1) with glove compartment branch-off line and the branch-off line for the mirror taximeter, etc. into the right front entrance cable duct (69) (right picture).
The following connections are located on the glove compartment branch-off line:
White 2-pin coupling for two-way radio (glove box)
Blue 2-pin coupling for two-way radio (glove box)
Black 18-pin coupling for two-way radio (glove box)
Antenna connector for two-way radio (glove box)
The following connections are located on the mirror taximeter branch-off line:
Blue 2-pin coupling (international roof sign)
Black 6-pin coupling (mirror taximeter)
Black, 2-pin connector (hands-free two-way radio)
43 Insert black, 2-pin coupling for CAN (2) into a free slot on the electrical connector of the right vehicle floor interior CAN potential distributor (X30/33).
44 Close cable ducts (68 and 69).
Only conduct operation steps 43 to 46 when retrofitting code (938) Preinstallation for hands-free two-way radio.
45 Unclip protective hose (70) from left A pillar and left front door and remove foam material (71).
46 Route taxi two-way radio branch-off line with blue, 2-pin coupling (39) along left front door wiring harness (73) through the protective hose (70), as shown, to the left front door.
47 Fasten branch-off line with blue, 2-pin coupling (39) using cable ties (72) to left front door wiring harness (73).
48 Insert foam material (71) into protective hose (70) and clip protective hose (70) onto left A-pillar and left front door.
Only conduct operation step 49 when retrofitting code (938) Preinstallation for hands-free two-way radio.
49 Strap down taxi two-way radio branch-off line with blue, 2-pin coupling (39) onto left front door wiring harness (73) and fasten in place using cable tie (72).
50 Cut off the red and black line of the roof sign lamp branch-off line (1.5), as shown, in the area of the A-pillar in the left footwell.
Cut off the red and black line offset by approx. 100 mm.
The truncated branch-off line will be installed again at a later stage and then connected to the vehicle's red and black line of the roof sign lamp branch-off line (1.5).
51 Fasten roof sign branch-off line (1.5) using cable ties (75) to vehicle wiring harness (60).
Operation step 52 only if code (934) Taxi emergency alarm system is not retrofitted.
52 Strap down black, 2-pin coupling (37) on the vehicle wiring harness (60) and fasten in place using cable tie.
53 Route glove compartment two-way radio branch-off line (1.3) and branch-off line for mirror taximeter, international roof sign and taxi two-way radio microphone (1.6) along vehicle wiring harness (60) in direction of glove compartment and fix in place using cable ties (79).
54 Remove screw/bolt (78) at instrument panel.
55 Route branch-off line for mirror taximeter, international roof sign and taxi two-way radio microphone (1.6) using pull-through device through gap (arrow G) between instrument panel and A-pillar to top of A-pillar.
56 Tighten screw/bolt (78) at instrument panel.
57 Route branch-off line for mirror taximeter, international roof sign and taxi two-way radio microphone (1.6) with black, 6-pin coupling for mirror taximeter, the blue, 2-pin coupling for the international roof sign and the black, 2-pin taxi two-way radio microphone connector (1.6) along the right A-pillar at the top to the headliner and fasten with cable ties (76) to the A-pillar wiring harness.
Route branch-off line for mirror taximeter, international roof sign and taxi two-way radio microphone (1.6) so that the largest possible distance to the windowbag (77) exists.
58 Wrap felt tape (80) around branch-off line for mirror taximeter, international roof sign and taxi two-way radio microphone (1.6) over a length of approx. 650 mm, beginning at top at A-pillar.
59 Route branch-off line for mirror taximeter, international roof sign and taxi two-way radio microphone (1.6) along broken line behind headliner (81) to installation location of overhead control panel.
