Component Identification:











1. Remove screws (13) from inside rearview mirror (A67) carrier (14) and remove carrier (14).







2. Wrap insulating tape (14) for a length of approx. 500 mm around the Night View Assist wiring harness (4) and LVDS line (2) on the Night View Assist control unit (N101).
3. Fasten Night View Assist wiring harness (4) and LVDS line (2) using cable ties (arrows A) in area of A-pillar at the bottom on the vehicle wiring harness.







4. Wrap 1500 mm of felt tape (15) around the LVDS line (2) 180 mm behind the silver 10-pin connector (1).







5. Route LVDS line (2), as shown, from the installation location for the Night View Assist camera behind the headliner (16) to the top of the A-pillar.
The silver 10-pin clutch (1) for the LVDS line (2) must protrude roughly 180 mm out of the headliner (16) in the inside rearview mirror area.

6. Position LVDS line (2) in cutout (arrow B) of headliner (16).







7. Route LVDS line (2) from headliner (16) along vehicle wiring harness to top of A-pillar and fasten in place using cable ties (arrows C).
Route LVDS line (2) so that the distance to the windowbag (17) is as large as possible.

8. Use felt tape to mask off the sharpedged sides (arrows D) on the reinforcement (18) and route the LVDS line (2), as shown, between the A-pillar and the reinforcement (18).







9. Position carrier (14) for inside rearview mirror (A67) and fasten in place using screws (13).







10. Make loops out of LVDS line (2), as shown, and fasten in place using cable tie (19) to vehicle wiring harness.
11. Install red/black line of wiring harness for power supply (4) into slot "6" of the blue 8-pin connector (10) included in the package contents.
12. Lock securing clip (arrows E) on blue 8-pin connector (10).







13. Route Night View Assist wiring harness (4), as shown, along the vehicle wiring harness to the air conditioner housing (21) and fasten in place using cable ties.
14. Connect blue 8-pin connector (11) of red/black line (rt/sw) to blue 8-pin connector (10) of wiring harness for power supply (4).
15. Use cable ties to fasten the electrical connection made by joining the blue 8- pin connector (11) and the blue 8-pin connector (10) to the vehicle wiring harness.







16. Route Night View Assist wiring harness (4) with green line, green/ white line and the black line video signal (7) as well as the red/black line (rt/sw) through the air duct (20) along the vehicle wiring harness into the installation opening for the COMAND control unit.
17. Route green 2-pin connector (8) of video signal line (7) approx. 200 mm out of the installation opening for the COMAND operating unit.

18. Fasten Night View Assist wiring harness (4) and red/black line (rt/sw) using a cable tie to the vehicle wiring harness.
19. Make loops of excess length of video signal line (7) and fasten with a cable tie (arrow F).







20. Route Night View Assist wiring harness (4) and red/black line (rt/sw) along vehicle wiring harness to Bowden cable (24) of foot-operated parking brake.
21. Fasten Night View Assist wiring harness (4) and red/black line (rt/sw) using a cable tie (arrows G) to the vehicle wiring harness.
22. Fasten Night View Assist wiring harness (4) and red/black line (rt/sw) using felt tape (23) to insulation mat (22).







23. Route Night View Assist wiring harness (4) and red/black line (rt/sw) along Bowden cable (24) of foot-operated parking brake and fasten in place using cable ties (25).
24. Open left front cable duct (26).







25. Route white 2-pin connector (9) of wiring harness for power supply (4) into left front cable duct (26).
26. Connect white 2-pin connector (9) of wiring harness for power supply (4) to vehicle floor chassis CAN potential distributor electrical connector (X30/30).
27. Fasten Night View Assist wiring harness (4) with cable tie (27) to vehicle wiring harness.

28. Make loops out of Night View Assist wiring harness (4) in left front cable duct (26) and fix in place in place.
29. Close left front cable duct (26).







30. Route red/black line (rt/sw) from Bowden cable (24) of foot operated parking brake along the vehicle wiring harness to the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module.
31. Fasten red/black line (rt/sw) using cable ties (28) to vehicle wiring harness.







32. Remove pink connector (5C) from front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
33. Install plug contact (12) of red/black line (rt/sw) into slot "11" (arrow H) of pink connector (5C).
34. Connect pink connector (5C) to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
35. Install 7.5 amp fuse into slot 36 on front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
