GF54.30-P-6200FL Night Vision Assist Control Unit, Component Description

GF54.30-P-6200FL Night Vision Assist Control Unit, Component Description
- with CODE (610) Night view assist

Component Identification:

Location
The Night View Assist control unit is located on the right A-pillar, behind the trim in the footwell.

Tasks
The Night View Assist control unit performs the following tasks:
^ Reading in of signals
^ Evaluation of input factors
^ Output of signals
^ Actuation of components

Reading in of signals
The input factors are read in with the following connections:
^ Low-voltage differential signal (LVDS)
^ Chassis CAN (CAN E)

Low voltage differential signal
The following signals are read in through the LVDS:
- Picture data for Night View Assist camera (B84/2)

Chassis CAN
The following signals are read in over the chassis CAN:
- From the instrument cluster (A1):
- Vehicle speed

- From CDI control unit (N3/9) (with diesel engine) or ME-SFI control unit (N3/10) (with gasoline engine)
- Status of transmission selector lever position (with transmission 722).

- From front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1):
- Status of reverse gear (with transmission 711, 716)
- Data from rain/light sensor (B38/2)
- Status of exterior lights switch (S1) and status of Night View Assist button (S1s9)
- Status of left infrared light (E1e11) and right infrared light (E2e11)

- From Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) (without code (233) DISTRONIC PLUS) or electronic stability program control unit Premium (N30/7)
(with code (233) DISTRONIC PLUS):
- Signals from the left front axle rpm sensor (L6/1)
- Signals from the right front axle rpm sensor (L6/2)
- Signals from the left rear axle rpm sensor (L6/3)
- Signals from the right rear axle rpm sensor (L6/4)
- Data of yaw rate sensor for lateral and longitudinal acceleration (B24/15)

- From steering column tube module control unit (N80):
- Over the steering LIN (LIN E1) from the steering wheel electronics (N135) status of left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110) and status of right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111)
- Steering angle sensor data (N49)

- From multifunction camera (A40/11):
- Light source detection status

Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.

Output of signals
The Night View Assist control unit sends the video data over an analog video interface (brightnesss information (luminescence)/ color information (chrominance) (Y/C)) to the COMAND control unit (A40/3).

From the COMAND control unit the video data are sent over an LVDS line to the Audio/COMAND display (A40/8).

Actuation of components
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
^ Chassis CAN

Chassis CAN
The following components are actuated via the chassis CAN:
- By the front SAM control unit:
- Left infrared lamp
- Right infrared lamp
