AN82.61-P-0001-06EW Retrofit MOST Fiber Optic Cable Wiring Harness
- except CODE (537) Digital radio
- except CODE (810) Sound system
- except CODE (863) Digital/analog TV tuner


1 Remove optical fiber (1) from power supply wiring harness (2).

Observe installation position of optical fiber (1). The coupling (3) will be attached to the media interface control unit at a later time.







2 Remove blue fuse (4) from coupling (5) and remove optical fiber 1 (1.1) of optical fiber (1) from input contact cavity (arrow A) of coupling (5).
3 Install optical fiber 1 (1.1) in input contact cavity (arrow A) of new coupling (6).

Observe arrows on coupling (5) and new coupling (6).

4 Remove optical fiber 2 (1.2) of optical fiber (1) from output contact cavity (arrow B) of coupling (5).







5 Install optical fiber 2 (1.2) in output contact cavity (arrow B) of new coupling (6) and install blue fuse (4) in coupling (6).

Observe arrows on coupling (5) and new coupling (6).

6 Attach protective sheaths (7), as shown, in area of coupling (3) and new coupling (6) at optical fiber (1).







7 Route optical fiber (1) along broken line from installation location (arrow C) of media interface control unit into slot of audio equipment.

Route optical fiber (1) behind crossmember (9).
The coupling (3) must be routed to the installation location (arrow C) of the media interface control unit.

8 Wrap felt tape around wiring harness of AUX connection electrical connector (X39/45).
9 Fix wiring harness of AUX connection electrical connector (X39/45) and optical fiber (1) in place with cable tie at vehicle wiring harness (arrows D).







10 Install new coupling (6), as shown, in outer slot at black 34-pin coupling (8).
