Component Identification:

1 Install red power supply line (rt) in slot 8 of blue 8-pin plug (6).
2 Install blue/black wake-up signal line (bl/sw) in slot 5 of blue 8-pin plug (6).
3 Remove contact (11) to connection of red power supply line (rt) on rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module.
4 Lock retaining clamps (arrows A) at blue 8-pin plug (6).

5 Lift right front floor covering (12).
6 Open covers at right front cable duct (13).
7 Route red power supply line (rt), as shown, into right front cable duct (13).

The red power supply line (rt) will be routed to the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module.

8 Close covers at right front cable duct (13).

9 Route red power supply line (rt), as shown, using pull-through device (15) through cable duct (14) next to front passenger seat.
10 Route red power supply line (rt), as shown, using pull-through device (15) through cable duct (16) of B-pillar into rear footwell.

11 Route red power supply line (rt), as shown, using pull-through device (15) through cable duct (17).
12 Route red power supply line (rt), as shown, along vehicle wiring harness (18) to right wheel arch cable duct (19).
13 Open covers at right wheel arch cable duct (19).
14 Route red power supply line (rt) into right wheel arch cable duct (19)
15 Close covers at right wheel arch cable duct (19).

16 Release catch hooks (arrows B) and remove violet 7-pin fuse carrier (7) at rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).

17 Route red power supply line (rt) from right wheel arch cable duct (19) through trunk cable duct (20) to rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
18 Attach "SPT" contact (21) to red power supply line (rt).

The "SPT" contact (21) for installation in the violet 7-pin fuse carrier (7) can be found in the wiring harness repair kit.

19 Insert "SPT" contact (21) in contact cavity 5 of violet 7-pin fuse carrier (7) and install violet 7-pin fuse carrier (7) at rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).

The designation of the individual contact cavities is on the violet 7-pin fuse carrier (7) (arrow C).

20 Align rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) with attachment points.
21 Fix red power supply line (rt) in place with cable ties (arrows D) at vehicle wiring harness (18), beginning at rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).

The red power supply line (rt) is to be routed such as to maximize the length of excess wire available in the area of the front passenger footwell.

22 Fold back and align right front floor covering.
23 Insert fuse 78 (N10/2f78) with a strength of 7.5 amps in slot 5 at violet 7-pin fuse carrier (7).
24 Fix blue 8-pin plug (6) with red power supply line (rt) in place at side of A-pillar at vehicle wiring harness using cable ties (23).

25 Route power supply wiring harness (24) with brown line (br), as shown, from installation location (arrow E) of media interface control unit to blue 8- pin plug (6).

Set down brown line (br) of power supply wiring harness (24) in front passenger footwell,

26 Connect blue 8-pin coupling (5) of power supply wiring harness (24) to blue 8-pin plug (6).

27 Route blue/black wake-up signal line (bl/sw) from blue 8-pin plug (6) along vehicle wiring harness and optical fiber wiring harness (3) into installation opening of audio equipment.
28 Fix power supply wiring harness (24) and blue/black wake-up signal line (bl/sw) in place using cable ties at vehicle wiring harness.
29 Fold back right front floor covering (12).
30 Unscrew nuts (27) and fold back passenger-side footrest (26).

31 Fasten brown line (br) to right footwell ground point (W15/1).

A maximum of 5 ground lines may be attached at the right footwell ground point (W15/1). The right front footwell ground point (W15/7) is to be used as needed.

32 Reinstall passenger-side footrest (26) and tighten with nuts (27).
33 Fold forward right front floor covering (12).

Only perform operation steps 34 to 36 on vehicles without code (537) Digital radio or without code (810) Sound system or without code (863) Digital/analog TV tuner.

34 Release lock (31) at black 34-pin coupling (8).
35 Install contact (30) of blue/black wakeup signal line (bl/sw) in contact cavity 16 (arrow F) of black 34-pin coupling (8).
36 Lock lock (31) at black 34-pin coupling (8).

Only perform the following operation steps on vehicles with code (537) Digital radio or with code (810) Sound system or with code (863) Digital/analog TV tuner.

37 Cut off contact (30) at the blue/black wake-up signal line (bl/sw).
38 Connect blue/black wake-up signal line (bl/sw) with a potential distributor (28) to blue/black wake-up signal line (29) of vehicle wiring harness.

The blue/black wake-up signal line (29) of the vehicle wiring harness is located in contact cavity 16 (arrow F) of the black 34-pin coupling (8).
The potential distributor (28) can be found in the wiring harness repair kit.
