The difference between the measured temperature and the calculated temperature of component Y85 (Exhaust gas recirculation cooler bypass switchover valve) is too great.

Test sequence

- Connect vacuum tester 201 589 13 21 00 with Y distributor to connection b.
- Disconnect vacuum hose from connection 3 of component Y85 (Exhaust gas recirculation cooler bypass switchover valve).
- Engine at idle
- Actuate component Y85 (Exhaust gas recirculation cooler bypass switchover valve) by pressing button ON.
- Do not actuate component Y85 (Exhaust gas recirculation cooler bypass switchover valve) by pressing button OFF.
Specified value

- During actuation of component Y85 (Exhaust gas recirculation cooler bypass switchover valve), the vacuum must be < 200 mbar.
- If component Y85 (Exhaust gas recirculation cooler bypass switchover valve) is not actuated, the vacuum must be > 700 mbar.
Move on to actuation with button F2

- Measure direct voltage with multimeter between ground and socket (Y85x1) 2
- Switch on ignition.
