Y32 Air pump switchover valve (secondary air injection)
Location
The air pump switchover valve is located at the front on the right cylinder head.
Task
The air pump switchover valve actuates the aspirator shutoff valve using vacuum from the intake manifold.
126/2 Right shutoff valve air injection (combination valve: Check valve integrated)
128 Check valve (vacuum)
B6/5 Right intake camshaft Hall sensor
B6/7 Right exhaust camshaft Hall sensor
M33 Electric air pump
Y32 Air pump switchover valve
Y49/5 Right camshaft intake solenoid
Y49/7 Right camshaft exhaust solenoid
1 Air admission
2 Vacuum supply from intake manifold
3 Connection to the air shutoff valves
a Anchor plate
b Restoring spring
c Housing
d Solenoid (coil)
e Electrical connection
F Rubber seal
Design
Electromagnetic switchover valve, voltage supply from terminal 87, coil resistance approx. 28 ohms.
1 Air admission
2 Vacuum supply from intake manifold
3 Connection to the air shutoff valves
Function
When actuating, the anchor plate (a) is pulled by the solenoid (d) and the sealing rubber (f) closes the aeration. The connection between port 2 and port 3 is opened. Thus there is a vacuum built up from the intake pipe to the aspirator shutoff valves. In the deenergized state the connection between port 1 and port 3 is reestablished and air is thus admitted to port 3.
