Location
The air shutoff valves are located between the electrical air pump and the respective cylinder head.
Task
Opens up the route during air injection for the injected air.
When air pump is switched off, preventing air being inducted into the exhaust ports, as a result of the flow of the exhaust gases.

Function
Both aspirator shutoff valves are opened simultaneously via the air pump switchover valve by means of the vacuum at connection (1).
During ventilation at connection (1), they are closed by spring force.
The injected air from the air pump flows to the outlet ducts on each cylinder head when the valve plate is raised.
When air injection is off, the check valve prevents the admission of exhaust gas in the air shutoff valves and thus protects these from dirt and thermal destruction.
