Reason for change
Complaint:
Distortions of the roof paneling.
Cause:
Insufficient flexibility of glued joints.
Remedy:
^ Remove headliner. See AR68.30-P-4300CX
^ Cut open adhesive bead in area of visible deformation in roof paneling using a cutting wire at the roof bows.
Caution:
Do not damage the internal coating on the roof paneling.
^ Remove DVD mats without damaging the coating on the inside of the roof paneling.
^ Relieve tension of outer skin of roof by applying heat (sun or paint drying booth).
^ Only continue with further operations after roof paneling has cooled down.
^ Touch up any paint damage on roof bow or inside of roof paneling using touch-up paint pen/primer stick.
^ Then reglue cut adhesive bead with Sikaflex 515 (A 005 989 27 20).
Caution:
Apply thin adhesive beads.
^ Glue in DVD mats with Sikaflex 515 (A 005 989 27 20) as per gluing pattern, see attachment "Gluing DVD mats".
^ Install headliner. See AR68.30-P-4300CX
