GF91.29-P-5231FL Driver Seat Control Unit Component Description

GF91.29-P-5231FL Driver Seat Control Unit Component Description
- with CODE (275) Electrically adjustable front seats with memory package

Component Identification:

Location
The driver seat control unit (N32/1) is located at the bottom of drive seat frame.

Task
- Control of the seat and steering column adjustment as per the requests via the interior CAN (CAN B)
- Storing the memory settings for seat, steering column, and outside mirror
- Storage request of set pressures for corresponding memory position for dynamic multicontour seat (with code (432) Left and right dynamic multicontour seat)
- Control of the easy entry/exit feature
- Control of crash-active exit aid
- Control of head restraint presetting (only code (494) USA version, Code (460) Canada version or code (498) Japan version)
- Control of collision avoidance with rear bench seat

These are grouped as follows:
^ Reading in of sensors and signals
^ Evaluating input factors
^ Actuation of components

Reading in of sensors and signals
These input factors are read in via the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Interior CAN

Direct line
- Circuit 30
- Tml. 31

The following sensors are read in via direct lines:
- Hall sensors of the seat adjustment motors
- Hall sensors of the steering column adjustment motors

Interior CAN
- Left front seat adjustment switch group (S22) by left front door control unit (N69/1) (left-hand drive vehicle)
- Right front seat adjustment switch group (S23) by right front door control unit (N69/2) (right-hand drive vehicle)
- Steering column adjustment switch (S59) by front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)
- Status of left rear backrest inclination switch (S54/5) or right rear seat inclination switch (S54/6) by rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
- Status of left rear backrest lock switch (S54/7) or right rear backrest lock switch (S54/8) by rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
- Information on adjusted seat positions for corresponding storage of memory positions for dynamic multicontour seat (with code (432) Dynamic multicontour seat, left and right)
- Signals for crash-active exit aid from supplemental restraint system control unit (N2/10) routed via front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) to interior CAN (CAN B) and transmitted to driver seat control unit.

First, the signals are placed by on the chassis CAN (CAN E) by the jacket tube control unit (N80) and read in by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module.

The signals are read in/transmitted by the driver seat control unit. The functions resulting therefrom are described in the corresponding function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).

Evaluation of input factors
The read in input factors are evaluated by the driver seat control unit. The motors for seat and steering column adjustment are actuated via integrated relays.

Actuation of components
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Interior CAN

Direct line
The following motors are actuated via direct lines:
- Steering column in/out adjustment motor (M20/1)
- Steering column up/down adjustment motor (M20/2)
- Driver seat fore/aft adjustment motor (M27/1)
- Driver seat height adjustment motor (M27/2)
- Driver seat inclination adjustment motor (M27/3)
- Driver seat head restraint adjustment motor (M27/4)
- Driver seat backrest inclination adjustment motor (M27/5)

Interior CAN
- Signals for actuating memory positions of outside mirror to left front door control unit and right front door control unit
- Commands for adjusting correspondingly stored air pressure of individual air cushions to corresponding memory positions of dynamic multicontour seat to right front dynamic multicontour seat control unit (N32/22) (with code (432) Left and right dynamic multicontour seat)

Variants
There are no variants for the hardware of the driver seat control unit. The country or left-hand drive vehicle/right hand drive vehicle allocation is software coded.
