Reason for change

Complaint:
1. The liftgate occasionally does not open, and a rattling noise can be heard from the area of the liftgate instead.

2. The liftgate can only be opened by operating the liftgate handle twice.

Cause:
The liftgate lock does not unlock completely (jams) and holds the liftgate closed while the drive of the automatic liftgate is being actuated in the Open direction.

Remedy:
Perform SCN coding in rear SAM using XENTRY Diagnostics (XD).

Vehicles without code 800 or 801:

The SCN coding is only possible in combination with add-on 1623 for XD DVD 07/10,

add-on 1622 for XD DVD 09/10 or as of XD DVD 11/10.

Notes:
^ PLEASE DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS!

^ When the problem occurs, the liftgate can only be opened by two (in quick succession) operations of the liftgate handle!
