AR41.10-P-0086-05SX Correcting Rear Articulation Angle at Rear Axle Center Assembly
AR41.10-P-0086-05SX Correcting Rear Articulation Angle At Rear Axle Center Assembly
Correct the rear inclination angle (3)
Appropriate adjustment bushes for inclination angle correction at the rear axle differential are available as a replacement part.
Adjusting bushes are available with an eccentric hole graduation of 0.5 to 2.5 mm. 1 mm corresponds to a change in articulation angle of approx. 0.15°. The dimension of eccentricity is identified by the notches on the adjustment bushes. The notch points up or down depending on the required correction.
The table listed below provides information as to how the articulation angle determined changes when an adjusting bush without notch is fitted and this is then replaced by an adjusting bush with 1, 2 or 3 notches.
a 1 notch = 0.5 mm corresponds to approx. 0.08°
b 2 notches = 1.5 mm equivalent to approx. 0.23°
c 3 notches = 2.5 mm equivalent to approx. 0.38°
Adjusting bushes with bore for bolt with insertion direction from front to rear.
Adjusting bushes with thread for bolt with insertion direction from the rear to the front.
On vehicles with bolt insertion direction from front to rear (adjusting bush with bore)
1 Support rear axle differential (50) with transmission jack and transmission platform.
2 Unscrew nut (64c) of rear differential mount.
3 Pull out bolt (64b) of rear differential mount slightly.
4 Mark installation position of adjusting bush (64d) (notch).
5 Pull out adjustment bush (64d) and remove together with bolt (64b).
6 Depending on the correction, insert appropriate adjustment bush (64d) together with bolt (64b).
7 Screw on and tighten nut (64c).
8 Remove transmission jack and transmission platform.
On vehicles with bolt insertion direction from the rear to the front (adjusting bush with bore)
1 Support rear axle differential (50) with transmission jack and transmission platform.
2 Loosen bolt (64b) of rear differential mount.
3 Mark installation position of adjusting bush (64d) (notch).
4 Press out the adjusting bush (64d) by continuing to turn the bolt (64b).
5 Remove adjusting bush (64d).
The bolt (64b) can only be removed by lowering the rear axle
6 Insert the corresponding adjusting bush (64d) depending on the correction.
7 Pull in adjusting bush (64d) with bolt (64b) and tighten.
8 Remove transmission jack and transmission platform.
