AZ88.00-P-0001-03SC Converting Rear Bumper
Check components removed from standard bumper before assembly and replace if damaged.
Pay attention to paint damage.
1. Insert bottom section paneling (2) into rear bumper paneling (1) and arrest.
2. Check whether bottom section paneling (2) is arrested correctly on inside of rear bumper paneling (1), if necessary press in again (see arrows).
3. Insert rear reinforcement (3) on left and right into rear bumper paneling (1) and fasten with five holddown clips (4) each.
4. Insert heat shield bracket (5) on left and right into rear bumper paneling (1) and fasten with two holddown clips (4) each.
5. Insert rear side guides (6) on left and right into rear bumper paneling (1).
6. Fasten rear side guides (6) on left and right to rear bumper paneling (1) and rear reinforcement (3) with four expansion rivets (8) each and two clamps (7).
7. Insert upper reinforcements (9) on left and right into rear bumper paneling (1)
Push upper reinforcements (9) between rear side guides (6) and rear bumper paneling (1).
8. Fasten upper reinforcements (9) on left and right to rear bumper paneling (1) with three expansion rivets (10) each.
9. Install chrome trim strip bracket (13) on center reinforcement (11) and arrest.
The chrome trim strip bracket (13) must arrest correctly on the center reinforcement (11) (see arrow).
10. Fasten lower bracket (12) on left and right to center reinforcement (11) with three blind rivets (14) each.
The lower bracket (12) should point toward the outside if installed correctly (see picture).
11. Install chrome trim strip (15) on paneling bottom section (2) and arrest.
The chrome trim strip (15) must arrest correctly on the paneling bottom section (2) (see arrows).
12. Insert center reinforcement (11) into rear bumper paneling (1).
Ensure that center reinforcement (11) is seated correctly on the mounting lugs on the rear bumper paneling (1).
13. Arrest center reinforcement (11) in rear bumper paneling (1) (see arrows) and fasten on left and right with one expansion rivet (10) each.
The center reinforcement (11) and the chrome trim strip (13) must arrest correctly in the rear bumper paneling (1) (see picture at top center).
14. Heat mounting lugs (16) with suitable tool (e.g. soldering iron) and tuck.
The upset mounting lugs (16) should have a large diameter than the openings in the center reinforcement (11) and be in contact with the center reinforcement (11).
Vehicles with Parktronic system (PTS) code 220
15.1. Insert outer right rear PTS ultrasonic sensors (B8/7), inner right PTS ultrasonic sensors (B8/8), left inner PTS ultrasonic sensors (B8/9) and outer left PTS ultrasonic sensors (B8/10) into brackets on rear bumper paneling (1).
16.1. Insert PTS wiring harness (23) into center reinforcement (11) and fasten to predefined attachment points (circles).
17. Hook check strap (17) on towing eye cover (18) into rear bumper paneling (1).
18. Insert tow eye cover (18) into rear bumper paneling (1).
The towing eye cover (18) must arrest correctly.
