GF80.45-P-0003RC Convenience Feature (CF), Function

GF80.45-P-0003RC Convenience Feature (CF), Function

General function requirements
^ Power window normalized

Convenience feature, general
It is possible to open and close the side windows and the Vario roof with the convenience feature.

The convenience feature comprises the following partial functions:
^ Function sequence for convenience feature via transmitter key (A8/1) (with code (880) Closing system with infrared remote control)
^ Function sequence for convenience feature via air recirculation function (without code (494) USA version)
^ Function sequence for convenience feature with the Vario roof actuation switch (S84s1)

The locking central is previously unlocked or locked depending on the request for functions accomplished with the transmitter key.

Additional function prerequisites for convenience feature via transmitter key
^ C. 15C OFF
^ Vario roof in end position
^ Vario roof system functioning properly
^ No overvoltage or undervoltage
^ Trunk lid closed
^ Luggage compartment separation closed

Function sequence for convenience feature via transmitter key
The side windows are also forced to open and close simultaneously together with the Vario roof.
When the Vario roof is opened the side windows are lowered first. When closing, the Vario roof is closed first and then the side window are rolled up
The convenience closing or opening feature of the Vario roof is activated with the transmitter key via the infrared signal.

For this purpose, press open or close button on transmitter key and hold down, while pointing at the left IR receiver (A26/1) or right IR receiver unit (A26/2).
The left door control unit (N69/1) or right door control unit (N69/2) receives the signal from the corresponding receiver unit and relays it to the EIS control unit (N73) via interior CAN.
The EIS control unit checks the access authorization of the transmitter key. If the access authorization is valid the EIS control unit relays the "Open or close" signal to the convertible top mechanism control unit (N52).
The signal is relayed to the left door control unit and right door control unit by the convertible top mechanism control unit via the interior CAN. They then actuate the left front power window motor M10/3) and right front power window motor (M10/4).

The left rear power window motor (M10/5) and right rear power window motor (M10/6) are directly actuated by the ft to mechanism control unit.
In addition, the convertible top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5) is actuated by the convertible top mechanism control unit to open or close the Vario roof.

For further information on opening and closing Vario roof, see separate function description "Vario roof" (VR)".

Additional function requirements for convenience feature via air recirculation function
^ Circuit 15 On

Function sequence for convenience feature via air recirculation function
Comfort opening or closing is actuated via:
- Air recirculation switch (N18s2) (without code (580) Automatic air conditioning and without code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning)
- Air recirculation switch (N22s2) (with code (580) Automatic air conditioning)
- Air recirculation switch (N22/7s2) (with code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning)

The corresponding air recirculation switch is read in by the:
- Automatic heater control and operating unit (N18) (without code (580) Automatic air conditioning and without code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning)
- AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22) (with code(with code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning) (580) Automatic air conditioning)
- Comfort AAC control and operating unit (N22/7) (with code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning)

and transmitted via interior CAN to the following control units:
- Door control module left
- Door control module right
- Power convertible top control unit

When opened with the air recirculation switch, the current position of the side windows is stored in the
- Door control module left
- Door control module right
- Power convertible top control unit before actuation.

Then the corresponding power window motor is actuated in the opening direction.

When closed with the air recirculation switch, actuation is accomplished until the stored position of the side windows is reached.

The rear windows are only closed and opened when the Vario roof closed.

The stored window positions are maintained after c. 15R or c. 15 OFF for t = 5 min., if the doors are not opened and the vehicle is not locked or unlocked with the transmitter key.

Additional function requirements for convenience feature with the Vario roof actuation switch
^ Circuit 15 On

Function sequence for convenience feature with the Vario roof actuation switch
If the Vario roof actuation switch is actuated twice and held down within t = 0.5 s in the corresponding direction, the upper control panel control unit (N72/1) then transmits the signal "Comfort opening" or "Comfort closing" via interior CAN to following control units:
- Door control module left
- Door control module right
- Power convertible top control unit

They then actuate the corresponding power window motor:
Actuation in the "closing" direction is performed as manual raising.
Actuation in the "opening" direction is performed as automatic lowering.

The actuation in the "closing" direction is inhibited for the rear windows until the front windows are closed.
