Component Identification:

Location
The vehicle-sensitive belt lock sensor is located on the crossmember of the B-pillar on the front passenger side under the rear box.

Task
The vehicle-sensitive belt lock sensor monitors the current acceleration and tilt of the vehicle using a tilting cone sensor. The vehicle-sensitive belt lock sensor transmits a constant signal for detecting faults in the actuation circuits for the left front belt lock solenoid (Y96) and the right front belt lock solenoid (Y96/1). The fault is sent by the left front seat adjustment control unit with memory (N32/1) or the right front seat adjustment control unit with memory (N32/2) to the instrument cluster (A1).

If the threshold values of the vehicle-sensitive belt lock sensor are exceeded, the seat belts are prevented from extending by:
- the left front seat adjustment control unit with memory via the left front belt lock solenoids
- the right front seat adjustment control unit with memory via the right front belt lock solenoids
