Component Identification:

Location
The yaw rate and lateral acceleration sensor is located under the rear SAM control unit under the right rear box.

Task
The yaw rate and lateral acceleration sensor measures the yaw rate about the vertical axis of the vehicle.

The integrated lateral acceleration sensor (AY sensor) measures the lateral acceleration.

The integrated longitudinal acceleration sensor (AX pickup) determines the vehicle pitching motion.

The respective signals are read in by the ESP, SPS [PML] and BAS control unit (N47-5).
