Component Identification:

Location
In the side paneling of the trunk on the right.

Task
When the load assist switch (S114) is actuated, the Vario roof stored in the trunk can be raised or lowered.

For better orientation, the load assist switch (S114) is equipped with a combined switch/control and function illumination
- Switch and control illumination with 20 % of luminance is permanently activated, if the Vario roof is lowered when the trunk lid is opened (evaluation via load assist down limit switch (S117).
- Function illumination is permanently activated with 100 % of luminance, if the Vario roof is raised when the trunk lid is open.

If an attempt is then made to close the trunk lid the LED in the load assist switch starts to flash f=1 Hz.

When the load assist switch is actuated while the Vario roof is being moved up or down it is always moved in the opposite direction.

Location
At the left main bearing next to the Vario roof hydraulic cylinder

If the load assist is not in the end position, a ground signal (input open) is not transmitted to the RVC [UVS] control unit (N52)

Task
One 1-pin normally open contact each transmits a ground signal to the RVC [UVS] control unit as soon as the Vario roof put down in the trunk is raised or lowered.

If the load assist is not in the end position, a ground signal (input open) is not transmitted to the RVC [UVS] control unit.

At the right 7-ball joint hinge of the trunk lid

Task
The 1-pin normally open contact transmits a ground signal to the RVC [UVS] control unit (N52) when the end position of the trunk lid is reached.
