GF80.50-P-6010RI Inclination Sensor Component Description

Component Identification:

Location
The ATA inclination sensor is located in the trunk on the left side.

Task
The ATA inclination sensor is a sensor which monitors position changes of the vehicle.
It is read in directly by the rear SAM control unit (N10/8).

Design
The ATA inclination sensor contains electrodes in an electrolyte (electrically conductive liquid).

Function
The electrodes in the ATA inclination sensor partially immerse into the electrolyte. Changes in the conductivity between the electrodes alert the ATA inclination sensor of changes in the vehicle's inclination.
When the vehicle is parked, the value for the vehicle position is stored.
If the antitheft alarm system (ATA) is activated and the inclination of the vehicle is moved in the longitudinal or lateral direction changes for more than a certain actuation time, the ATA inclination sensor relays a signal to the rear SAM control unit.
It transmits a corresponding message to the driver-side SAM control unit (N10/10) via the interior CAN. Here, the signal is evaluated and the alarm actuated.
