GF30.30-P-3301FL Component Description For Radar Sensors Control Unit

GF30.30-P-3301FL Component Description For Radar Sensors Control Unit
- with CODE (233) Distronic Plus

Component Identification:

Location
The radar sensors control unit is located in the front right footwell.

Task
The tasks of the radar sensors control unit include controlling the following functions:
^ Variable Speed Limiter (except code (494) USA version)
^ Permanent Speed Limiter
^ DISTRONIC PLUS
^ BAS PLUS (Brake Assist System PLUS)
^ PRE-SAFE brake
^ Distance warning system
^ Automatic deactivation of the radar sensor system (for the Western European version)

The additional tasks of the radar sensors control unit are:
^ Actuation and evaluation of the short range sensor
^ Evaluation of the long range radar

The radar sensors control unit is the unit that evaluates the short range radar and the long range radar. To do this the left and right inside radar sensor, front bumper (A86/1b2, A86/1b3) (short range sensors) are interconnected via the sensor CAN (CAN S) and the long range radar via the dynamics CAN (CAN H) with the radar sensors control unit.
The radar sensors control unit also receives information (such as own vehicle speed and driver acceleration requests) from other control over the chassis CAN (CAN E) and dynamics CAN.
After evaluating all sensor data and input signals, the radar sensors control unit takes full control of the vehicle longitudinal movements, by sending accelerate, decelerate or gearshift signals via the chassis CAN.

Warning tones and display in the IC (A1) are also actuated by the radar sensors control unit and the PRE-SAFE measures are requested via the chassis CAN.

Input and output signals
The following input signals and output signals are evaluated and sent by the radar sensors control unit.
^ Direct input signals
^ Direct output signals
^ CAN input signals from the chassis CAN
^ CAN output signals to the chassis CAN
^ CAN input signals from the dynamics CAN
^ CAN output signals to the dynamics CAN
^ CAN input signals from the sensor CAN
^ CAN output signals to the sensor CAN

Design
Due to the high performance of the radar sensors control unit, it is equipped with two controllers (clock frequency 40 MHz each).
