GF82.70-P-2007FLJ Telephone Switch-on/switch-off Characteristics, Function
- with CODE (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation)
- with CODE (498) Japan version
- basic telephony
Function requirements
^ Circuit 30g
^ One mobile phone network is available in sufficient strength and quality
^ Compatible mobile phone connected over the Japan adapter cable electrical connector (X39/46) to the communications control unit (N123/6) or a Bluetooth-compatible mobile phone paired with the COMAND controller unit (A40/3) is located in the vehicle
A Bluetooth-compatible mobile phone can only be operated in the vehicle if a mobile phone is not connected to the adapter cable electrical connector.
In order to be able to operate a Bluetooth-compatible mobile phone that is authorized on the COMAND controller unit in the vehicle, the mobile phone must support hands-free profile (HFP) 1.0 or 1.5.

General
With circuit 30g, the COMAND controller unit must be manually switched on so that the mobile phone is switched on via a wake- up pulse from the COMAND controller unit.
For status "circuit 15R ON" the COMAND controller unit is automatically switched on; this in turn also automatically switches on the mobile phone by means of a wake-up pulse from the COMAND controller unit.
The mobile phone can be switched off with circuit 30g by manually switching off the COMAND controller unit, which sends a corresponding signal to the mobile phone. The mobile phone is switched off automatically with status "circuit 15R OFF" by the COMAND controller unit, which sends a corresponding signal to the mobile phone.
A mobile phone operated via Bluetooth(R) can be switched on and off only with the buttons on the mobile phone itself.
The switch-on and switch-off function consists of the following two subfunctions:
^ Switch on function sequence
^ Switch off function sequence
Switch on function sequence
The switch on signal (wake-up pulse) is forwarded by the COMAND controller unit as follows to the mobile phone:
- Direct line
- Communication control unit
- Direct line
- Adapter cable electrical connector
- Adapter cable
The mobile phone is then switched on. If configured on the mobile phone, the lock-code query is presented after switching on the mobile phone.
The lock-code query is forwarded from the COMAND controller unit via a low voltage differential signaling (LVDS) line to the Audio/ COMAND display (A40/8) and via the interior CAN (CAN B) to the display in the instrument cluster (A1).
Depending on the prompt, the code must be entered via the buttons on the mobile phone.
The control signals of the buttons on the mobile phone are internally processed and forwarded to the COMAND controller unit via the following route:
- Adapter cable electrical connector
- Direct line
- Communication control unit
- Direct line
After entering the lock-code, the reception status of the mobile phone is received via the multifunction antenna (A28/11) via the following route:
- Direct line
- Adapter cable electrical connector
From the mobile phone, the reception status of the mobile phone is forwarded to the COMAND controller unit via the following route:
- Adapter cable electrical connector
- Direct line
- Communication control unit
- Direct line
The reception status is shown when the COMAND controller unit sends it over an LVDS line to the Audio/COMAND display.
A mobile phone operated via Bluetooth(R) processes the switch- on signal internally in the mobile phone. The lock code inquiry, if set on the mobile phone and it sends the status, is indicated on the mobile phone display only. The lock-code can be entered using the mobile phone buttons. The reception status is received by the mobile phone's antenna.
The display of the lock-code and the reception status as well as the signals of the mobile phone buttons are processed internally in the mobile phone.
Switch off function sequence
The switch off signal (corresponding signal) is forwarded by the COMAND controller unit to the mobile phone in the following way:
- Direct line
- Communication control unit
- Direct line
- Adapter cable electrical connector
The mobile phone is then switched off.
A mobile phone operated via Bluetooth(R) processes the switch-off signal internally in the mobile phone.
