GF82.95-P-2023CEU Display Of Emergency Call System Status, Function

GF82.95-P-2023CEU Display Of Emergency Call System Status, Function
- with CODE (359) TELE AID emergency call system

Function requirements, general
^ Telematic Alarm Identification on Demand (emergency call system) (TELE AID) system authorized and operating error-free
^ The following vehicle-related services are authorized separately:
- Manual emergency call (E-Call)
- Breakdown assistance (Roadside Assistance)
- MB-Info call
- Vehicle remote door unlock

^ The customer is registered and authorized at the service center
^ An emergency call system control unit (N123/4) communication module authorized for the corresponding vehicle-related service is configured ex-factory with the telephone number of the corresponding service provider
^ A mobile telephone network available in adequate strength and quality
^ Execution of a vehicle-related service

Depending on the equipment installed one of the following control units will be installed, referred in the following text as audio equipment:
- Radio (A2)
(with code (523) Radio MB Audio 20 or code (510) Audio 20 incl. CD changer)
- COMAND control unit (A40/3)
(with code (512) COMAND APS incl. DVD changer or code (528) COMAND incl. DVD changer)

Display of emergency call system status, general
The two red light emitting diodes (LED) integrated into the emergency call system button (S93/3) are used to indicate the following actions:
- Emergency call system self-test
- Emergency call system ready state
- Automatic or manual emergency call active

Malfunctions in the emergency call system are also indicated on the instrument cluster (A1), depending on the type of malfunction.

The LED integrated into the breakdown assistance button (S93/6s2) flashes when breakdown assistance is active.
The LED integrated into the MB-Info button (S93/6s1) flashes when an MB-Info call is active.
The vehicle remote door unlock is executed by means of a message in the instrument cluster.
In the event of breakdown assistance and an MB-Info call, additional services, e.g. Freetext (transmission of text messages), are also shown on the Audio/COMAND display (A40/8).

This is sent from the emergency call system control unit to the Audio/COMAND display in the following way:
- Diagnostic CAN (CAN D)
- Front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1)
- Interior CAN (CAN B)
- Audio equipment
- Low voltage differential signal (LVDS) line

The display function for the emergency call system status consists of the following subfunctions:
^ Function sequence for emergency call system status in non-actuated state
^ Function sequence for emergency call system status for automatic emergency call
^ Function sequence for emergency call system status for manual emergency call
^ Function sequence for emergency call system status for breakdown assistance
^ Function sequence for emergency call system status for MB-Info call
^ Function sequence for emergency call system status for vehicle remote door unlock

Additional function requirement for emergency call system status in non-actuated state
^ C. 15R On

Function sequence for emergency call system status in nonactuated state
As soon as the circuit status of Circuit 15R is On, the two red LEDs integrated into the emergency call system button light up during the self-test of the emergency call system control unit for t = 3,5 s.
Actuation is accomplished by the emergency call system control unit via a discrete line. This signals the self-test and the check of the following emergency call system states:
- Emergency call system control unit power supply
- Functions within the emergency call system control unit (e.g. integrated communication module or memory)
- Authorization of the emergency call system (e.g. of the communication module integrated into the emergency call system control unit) or the customer through the service center
- Communication with the supplemental restraint system control unit (N2/10) and the Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4)
- Emergency call system button function (e.g. jammed or open emergency call system button)
- Emergency call system antenna (A2/52)
- Global positioning system antenna splitter function (A2/5) (with code (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer)
- Multifunction antenna (A28/11)
- Frequency switchover control unit (N96) (with code (389) Mobile phone preinstallation with universal interface, USA/Canada)

The circuit status 15R On is received by the emergency call system control unit from the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) in the following way:
- Interior CAN
- Front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module
- Diagnostic CAN

The emergency call system control unit communicates with the supplemental restraint system control unit ("LIFE signal") every t = 500 ms) and the electronic stability program control unit over the following path:
- Chassis CAN (CAN E)
- Front SAM control unit
- Diagnostic CAN

The following components are each tested via a direct line:
- Emergency call system antenna
- GPS antenna splitter (with code (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer)
- Multifunction antenna
- Frequency switchover control unit (with code (389) Mobile phone preinstallation with universal interface, USA/Canada)

If no fault is present, the two red LEDs integrated into the emergency call system button go out after t = 4 s and thereby signal operational readiness of the emergency call system.
If a fault is present, the two red LEDs integrated into the emergency call system button are permanently actuated by the emergency call system control unit via a direct line.
Depending on the fault type, a message is displayed in the instrument cluster and filed in the memory of the emergency call system control unit.
The message is displayed in the instrument cluster by the emergency call system control unit in the following way:
- Diagnostic CAN
- Front SAM control unit
- Interior CAN

Additional function requirement for emergency call system status for automatic emergency call
^ C. 15R On

Function sequence for emergency call system status for automatic emergency call
After triggering an automatic emergency call (crash recognition incl. crash level) the emergency call system control unit intermittently actuates one of the two red LEDs integrated into the emergency call system button.

Additional function requirement for emergency call system status for manual emergency call
^ C. 30 ON

Function sequence for emergency call system status for manual emergency call
After triggering a manual emergency call using the emergency call system button, the emergency call system control unit intermittently actuates one of the two red LEDs integrated into the emergency call system button.

Additional function requirement for emergency call system status for breakdown assistance
^ Circuit 30 ON

Function sequence for emergency call system status for breakdown assistance
After triggering breakdown assistance using the breakdown assistance button, the emergency call system control unit intermittently actuates the LED integrated into the breakdown assistance button directly via a direct line.

Additional function requirements for emergency call system status for MB-Info call
^ Circuit 30 ON

Function sequence for emergency call system status for MB Info call
After triggering the MB-Info call using the MB-Info button, the emergency call system control unit intermittently actuates the LED integrated into the MB-Info button via a direct line.

Additional function requirement for emergency call system status for vehicle remote door unlock
^ C. 30 ON

Function sequence for emergency call system status for vehicle remote door unlock
After triggering the vehicle remote door unlock after a phone call to the service center, the emergency call system control unit displays the message in the instrument cluster via the following route:
- Diagnostic CAN
- Front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module
- Interior CAN
