Component Identification:
Component Identification:
1. Guide control unit wiring harness (22) along existing lines from the trailer recognition control unit (N28/1) to the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and fix in position.
2. Remove the blue 28-pin connector (arrow) from the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
3. Open blue 28-pin connector.
4. Mount brown line (br) with contact from control unit wiring harness (22) into the blue 28-pin connector chamber 9.
5. Mount brown/red line (br/rt) with contact from control unit wiring harness (22) in the blue 28-pin connector chamber 10.
6. Close the blue 28-pin connector again and mount on the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) (slot 5 H).
The coupling is coded.
7. Check the fuse assignment of the blue fuse carrier.

Assignment 2 20 amp(s)
Assignment 3 15 amp(s)
Assignment 4 Not used
Assignment 5 30 amp(s) (serves as bridge)
Assignment 6 30 amp(s) (serves as bridge)

8. Insert blue fuse carrier (arrow) into the slot marked blue of the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).
The fuse carrier is color coded.
9. Connect brown lines (br) from the trailer hitch wiring harness (20) and from the control unit wiring harness (22) to the ground point (trunk, right taillamp) (W7/1).
10. Route the trailer hitch wiring harness (20) and control unit wiring harness (22) and fix in position.
Using a cable tie, fix the control unit wiring harness (22) behind the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) in position on the series production wiring harness
11. Mount the couplings (5 pieces) on the trailer recognition control unit (N28/1).
The couplings are coded.
