Trailer Coupling Mechanical System:

1. Remove adhesive remains from the seals (arrows).







2. Remove plug (7, 8) from rear center section.
Plugs can be discarded.











3. Remove the plugs (9) from the left (illustration on left) and right-side (illustration on right) vehicle side members.
Plugs can be discarded.







4. Insert seals (4) in the vehicle's left and right-side side members.
Ensure that the seals (4) are positioned correctly. Lug of seals (4) must point downwards. Moisten the inside of the seals (4) with antifriction agent.







5. Insert the right-side longitudinal member reinforcement (3) into the right-side longitudinal member.
6. Slide the left longitudinal member reinforcement into the left longitudinal member carrier.











7. Screw left longitudinal member reinforcement (2) and right longitudinal member reinforcement (3) finger-tight to vehicle longitudinal members using two M10 x 25 self-locking bolts (5) with washers each.







8. Fit crossmember (1) to left longitudinal member reinforcement (2) and right longitudinal member reinforcement (3) and screw on finger-tight with two M12 x 1.5 x 35 micro-encapsulated bolts (13) each.
9. Guide cable (30) through the left hole and seal with existing grommet.
10. Guide wiring harness (40) through the right bores and seal with existing grommet.







11. Screw on crossmember finger-tight with two self-locking combination nuts M10 (15) with spring washers on the left rear center section on the inside and outside.
12. Screw on crossmember finger-tight with two self-locking combination nuts M10 (15) with spring washers on right rear center section on the inside and outside.
13. Align trailer hitch.







14. Tighten both M12 x 1.5 x 35 micro-encapsulated bolts (13) on the left and right of the crossmember (1) to the specified torque. [Nm]
15. Tighten the left longitudinal member reinforcement and right longitudinal member reinforcement each with two self-locking bolts M10 x 25 (5) on longitudinal member with torque. [Nm]







16. Tighten both M10 self-locking combination nuts (15) with spring washer to the outer left and right of the rear center section to the specified torque. [Nm]
17. Tighten both M10 self-locking combination nuts (15) with spring washer to the inner left and right of the rear center section to the specified torque. [Nm]
