MOST
The sound system amplifier control unit is a MOST subscriber and receives audio signals from the following components:
- "Audio equipment"
- Digital Audio Broadcasting control unit (N87/3) (Model 204.0/2 with code (537) Digital radio)
- Satellite digital audio radio (SDAR) control unit (N87/5) (model 204.0/9 with code (536) SIRIUS satellite radio as of 1.6.10, with code (536) SIRIUS satellite radio and code (523) MB Audio 20 radio)

- Media interface control unit (N125/1) (with code (518) Media interface)
Direct lines
- Telematic Alarm Identification on Demand (emergency call system) (TELE AID) MUTE (with code (359) TELE AID emergency call system)
- Visual and electrical wake-up
Decoding signals
- Decoding of Digital Transmission Content Protection (DTCP) copy-protected audio signals based on the latest digital signal processing (DSP) technology
DSP means that for the audio range, audio tracks are processed using mathematical algorithms with the objective of improving the acoustic sound characteristics.
Supporting and amplifying signals
- Surround sound (Logic 7) support
- Supporting 2 stereo entertainment channels and 3 announcement channels (e.g. for voice output of navigation instructions, etc.)
- Amplification of decoded audio signals
Transmission of signals
Direct lines
- Line Out (+ and -) for rear bass speaker amplifier (N40/9) (model 204.9)
- Remote for rear bass speaker amplifier (model 204.9)
- Output of signal tones, digital multiple channel output and output of decoded, volume-adapted and amplified audio signals to the following speakers:
- Left front door speaker (H4/1)
- Right front door speaker (H4/2)
- Left rear door speaker (H4/3)
- Right rear door speaker (H4/4)
- Center instrument panel speaker (H4/27)
- Bass speaker (H4/29), model 204.0/2
- Left rear surround speaker (H4/54)

Function
The sound system amplifier control unit is activated via the "audio equipment". The "Audio unit" provides all menus for user guidance. Moreover, the following subfunctions are available:
^ Diagnosis
^ Software download
Diagnosis
The diagnosis of the sound system amplifier control unit is performed using the Keyword 2000 protocol. All other control units in MOST are also diagnosed via this interface at the same time. The sound system amplifier control unit can be configured via "Common Vehicle Information".
Software download
The update is carried out via the "Audio unit" drive using a CD or DVD.
