For example, it provides information on the following services:
- Current traffic conditions
- Technical questions, complaints and services
- Mercedes-Benz products and Mercedes Card
- Leasing and financial offers
This vehicle-related service is primarily an oral information service that is provided via the communications module integrated into the emergency call system control unit.
The MB-Info call function consists of the two following subfunctions:
^ MB-Info call function sequence
^ Function sequence for display of additional services
MB-Info call function sequence
The status of the MB-Info button is read in by the emergency call system control unit over a direct line.
The emergency call system control unit automatically transmits an SMS with the following data via the integrated communication module to the CAC:
- Vehicle position
- Customer identification data
- Vehicle identification data
Additionally, the communication module integrated into the emergency call system control unit sets up a voice communication to the CAC.
The communication module integrated into the emergency call system control unit transmits and receives the mobile phone signals or data in the following way:
- Direct line
- Frequency switchover control unit (N96) (with code (389) Mobile phone preinstallation with universal interface, USA/Canada, and direct line
- Multifunction antenna (A28/11)
The MB-Info button's integrated light emitting diode (LED) flashes as long as the MB-Info call is activated.
In the event of an MB-Info call, other vehicle-related services (e.g. vehicle remote door unlock) and, for vehicles with code (389) Mobile phone preinstallation with universal interface, USA/Canada, any active mobile phone connections are interrupted.
In the event of a multifunction antenna malfunction (e.g. defective because of rollover) the emergency call system control unit automatically uses the emergency call system antenna (A2/52) to transmit mobile phone signals or data.
Function sequence for display of additional services
