Tire Pressure Module: Description and Operation

Component Identification:





Location
The TPM [RDK] control unit is located in the right of the luggage compartment.

Task
The TPM [RDK] control unit has the following tasks:
^ Reading in of sensors and signals
^ Evaluation of input factors
^ Actuation of components

Reading in of sensors and signals
The input factors are read in with the following connections:
^ Two-way radio
^ Interior CAN

Two-way radio
The following sensors are read in via radio:
- Left front TPM wheel sensor (A69/1)
- Rear front TPM wheel sensor (A69/2)
- Left rear tire pressure monitor sensor (A69/3)
- Rear right tire pressure control wheel sensor (A69/4)

Interior CAN
The following signals are read in with interior CAN by the: by the instrument cluster (A1):
- Vehicle speed signal

From the driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1):
- Ambient temperature

Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the affected components are then actuated.

Actuation of components
Components are actuated with the following lines:
^ Interior CAN

Interior CAN
The following components are actuated via the interior CAN: by the instrument cluster
- Menu displays and warning messages

Design
The central antenna is integrated into the TPM [RDK] control unit.
