Location
The convertible top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5) is located in the passenger compartment in the center of the rear wall.

Task
The Vario roof is closed or opened hydraulically via the convertible top mechanism hydraulic unit.

Design
The convertible top mechanism hydraulic unit consists of:
- Temperature sensor (A7/5b1)
- Motor (A7/5m1)
- Vario roof open relay (A7/5k1)
- Vario roof close relay (A7/5k2)
- Vario roof solenoid valve (A7/5y1)

Function
The motor (A7/5m1) for the pump in the convertible top mechanism hydraulic unit generates the required operating pressure with which the hydraulic cylinders are actuated. The hydraulic cylinders are actuated by the Vario roof solenoid valve (A7/5y1), which is also located in the convertible top mechanism hydraulic unit.
