GF82.95-P-2022RCU Voice Connection Between Vehicle And Service Center, Function
- with CODE (359) TELE AID emergency call system

Function requirements
^ Circuit 30 or Circuit 15R
^ Emergency call system authorized and operating properly
^ Each vehicle-related service is authorized separately
^ An emergency call system control unit (N123/4) communication module authorized for the corresponding vehicle-related service is configured ex-factory with the telephone number of the corresponding service provider
^ The customer is registered and authorized at the service center
^ One mobile phone network is available in sufficient strength and quality
^ One of the following vehicle-related services is present:
- Manual or automatic emergency call (E-Call)
- MB-Info call
- Breakdown assistance (Roadside Assistance)
- Vehicle tracking

Depending on the equipment installed, one of the following control units will be installed, hereafter referred to as the "audio unit":
- Radio (A2), with code (510) Audio 20 including CD changer
- COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3), with code (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer

General
Regardless of the type of vehicle-related service initiated (e.g. MB-Info call), a voice connection is established to the service center. After feedback by the service center with a special tone, an SMS is sent to the service center with the appropriate data (vehicle identification number (VIN) and vehicle model, etc.). Then the customer can speak to a service receptionist over the existing voice connection.

Function sequence
The hands-free system microphone group (B25), integrated into the overhead control panel control unit (N70) is used for voice input. The signals from the hands-free system microphone group are forwarded to the "audio unit" via 2 direct lines.

The "audio unit" then loops through the signals from the hands-free system microphone group and forwards them to the communication module integrated into the emergency call system control unit.
The communication module integrated into the emergency call system control unit then transmits the hands-free system microphone group signals to the service center. The communication module integrated into the emergency call system control unit transmits and receives the mobile phone signals or data in the following way:
- Direct line
- Left antenna amplifier module (A2/64)
- Direct line
- Rod antenna (A28)

The voice output occurs exclusively via the left front emergency call speaker (H4/46) and the right front emergency call speaker (H4/47). These are actuated by the emergency call system control unit via direct lines.

Simultaneously, the emergency call system control unit in vehicles with code (810) Sound system, sends a mute signal via a discrete line to the sound system amplifier (N40/3), to mute the following speakers:
- Left door speaker group (H4/1)
- Right door speaker group (H4/2)
- Left rear speaker (H4/7)
- Right rear speaker (H4/8)
- Center cockpit speaker (centerfill) (H4/27)
- Left door tweeter (H4/33)
- Right door tweeter (H4/34)
- Left rear surround speaker (H4/54)
- Right rear surround speaker (H4/57)

Normally, the voice connection is deactivated by the service center or by the customer.

The hands-free system microphone group comprises 3 microphones. However, only two microphones are used for voice input.

The establishment of a voice connection to the service center is interrupted by the communication module integrated into the emergency call system control unit after several unsuccessful dialing attempts.

In the event of a failure of the rod antenna (defective e.g. due to rollover), the emergency call system control unit for transferring the mobile phone signals and data transmits and receives the mobile phone signals and data in the following way:
- Direct line
- Emergency call system antenna splitter (A2/25)
- Direct line
- Emergency call system left backup antenna (A2/54)
- Emergency call system right backup antenna (A2/55)

For vehicles without code (810) Sound system, the emergency call system control unit sends a mute signal via a direct line to the "audio unit" to mute the following speakers:
- Left door speaker group
- Right door speaker group
- Left rear speaker
- Right rear speaker
- Center cockpit speaker (centerfill)
- Left door tweeter
- Right door tweeter
