GF07.05-P-6030MIK Component Description For The Intake Manifold Tumble Flap Switchover Valve
- refinement package
- as of model year 09

Component Identification:

Location
The switchover valve is mounted at the front of variable intake manifold.

Task
The switchover valve actuates the tumble flap switchover vacuum unit with vacuum from the vacuum reservoir for tumble flap switchover.

Design
The switchover valve consists of a solenoid, a 2-sided valve plate, three air connections and a 2-pin connector.

Function

Component Identification:

The switchover valve is actuated by the tumble flap switchover by the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) by means of a ground signal. The voltage supply takes place from "circuit 87 M2".

The valve plate actuated by the coil armature switches between aeration (atmosphere) and vacuum supply from the vacuum reservoir.

When energized, connection 1 is closed off by the valve plate and vacuum from the vacuum reservoir builds up in the tumble flap switchover vacuum unit. The tumble flaps close.

When deenergized, connection 2 is closed off by the valve plate and the connection is restored between connections 1 and 3. In this way the tumble flap switchover vacuum unit (via connector 3) is aerated again and the tumble flaps opened.
