GF27.60-P-5211ACM Torque Converter Lockup Clutch Regulating Valve, Component Description

GF27.60-P-5211ACM Torque converter lockup clutch regulating valve, component description
- TRANSMISSION 722.643/649
- refinement package
- as of model year 09

Component Identification:

Location
The torque converter lockup clutch regulating valve is located in the shift plate valve housing.

Task
The regulating valve controls the hydraulic torque converter lockup clutch and distributes the lubricating oil.

Function
The torque converter lockup clutch regulating valve regulates the converter lockup clutch working pressure depending on the torque converter lockup clutch control pressure.

Depending on the level of the torque converter lockup clutch working pressure the torque converter lockup clutch is engaged, disengaged or in slip mode.

In the lower position of the torque converter lockup clutch regulating valve lubricating oil flows through the torque converter and oil cooler into the transmission (torque converter lockup clutch unpressurized).

In its regulating position (slip mode, torque converter lockup clutch applied with pressure) a reduced lubricating oil quantity flows through the annular gap directly through the oil cooler into the transmission, bypassing the torque converter. The other part of the lubricating oil is lead into the torque converter via the throttle to cool the torque converter lockup clutch.
