Design
The activated charcoal canister consists of a plastic housing filled with activated charcoal granulates.

The activated charcoal canister can be closed by the activated charcoal canister shutoff valve and has a basically large volume. The activated charcoal canister is divided into three chambers by partitions to achieve an optimal flow of the activated charcoal granulates.

Function
- Fuel vapors released from the fuel tanks are combined with the activated charcoal granulates
- The fuel tank is aerated (by vacuum) and ventilated (by overpressure) through the activated charcoal canister

When regeneration is activated, the fuel vapors are drawn in by the engine and combusted.
The activated charcoal granulates are completely regenerated in the ideal case.
