Component Identification:
Location
The TPM [RDK] control unit is located in the rear left-hand side of the luggage compartment on the control unit carrier.
Component Identification:
Location
The TPM [RDK] control unit is located on the left in the trunk tray.
Task
The TPM [RDK] control unit has the following tasks:
^ Reading in of signals
^ Evaluation of input factors
^ Actuation of components
Reading in of signals
The input factors are read in with the following connections:
^ Direct line
^ Interior CAN (CAN B)
Direct line
The following component is read in over a direct line:
- Central TPM [RDK] antenna (A2/97)
Interior CAN
The TPM [RDK] control unit is an interior CAN subscriber. It receives the corresponding messages from the following control units:
- Instrument cluster (A1):
- Vehicle speed signal
- Driver-side SAM control unit (N10/10):
- Outside temperature
- Circuit 61
- EIS [EZS] control unit (N73):
- Circuit 15
- Central gateway control unit (N93):
- Country code
- Engine/body variant
- Diagnosis active
- Steering column tube module (N80):
- Signal from steering angle sensor (N49)
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the affected components are then actuated.
Actuation of components
Components are actuated with the following lines:
^ Local Interconnect Network (LIN)
^ Interior CAN
LIN
The following components are actuated via LIN:
- Left front TPM [RDK] wheel antenna (A2/44), with code (475) Tire pressure monitor (premium)
- Right front TPM [RDK] wheel antenna (A2/45), with code (475) Tire pressure monitor (premium)
Interior CAN
The TPM [RDK] control unit is an interior CAN subscriber. It communicates the corresponding messages with the following control unit:
- Instrument cluster:
- Menu displays and warning messages
Variants
The TPM [RDK] control unit is used for 2 versions of the system:
- Vehicles with code (470) Tire pressure monitor (standard)
- Vehicles with code (475) Tire pressure monitor (premium)
The same TPM [RDK] control unit is used for both versions.
