Location
Two spark plugs per cylinder are screwed into the top of the cylinder head.

Task
Spark plugs ignite the suctioned and compressed fuel-air mixture by means of arcing between electrodes.

Function
From the ECI ignition modules plugged directly into the RH and LH cylinder banks (N92/1, N92/2), the ignition voltage passes to the spark plugs and causes arcing in the air gap between the center and ground electrodes.

All spark plug characteristics are defined by type symbols provided by the manufacturer (e.g. heat rating, seat shape, thread, width across flats, electrode material, spark position).
