Location
The roll bar (RB [�RB]) trigger solenoid (Y57/1) is located on the right side in the vicinity of the B-pillar.

Task
Release of the piston rod of the roll bar hydraulic cylinder.

Function
If an accident occurs or in the event of a critical traffic situation, the roll bar Vario roof control unit (N52) energizes the roll bar trigger solenoid. As a result, the lock that connects the hydraulic cylinder to the roll bar opens up. The roll bar is now extended through the precompressed spring within split seconds.
