The rear shelf antenna amplifier has the following tasks:

AM radio signals from the rear window antenna amplifier module (A2/12) or from the rear shelf antenna (A2/68) are received via a direct line, amplified and then forwarded via another direct line to the left antenna amplifier module (A2/64).

The selection of the signal source for AM radio reception corresponds with the soft top status:
- Closed status = rear window antenna amplifier module
- Opened status = rear shelf antenna
