Component Identification:

Location
The rear shelf antenna is located in the rear under the cover in the rear wall.

The rear shelf is used as an antenna. It is isolated from the vehicle ground.

Task
The rear shelf antenna has the following tasks:
^ Receiving and forwarding AM radio signals

Receiving and forwarding AM radio signals
The AM radio signals are received and forwarded via a direct line to the rear shelf antenna amplifier (A2/67).
The rear shelf antenna ensures that AM signals can be received when the Vario roof is open

When operating (opening/closing) the Vario roof, unfavorable conditions may result in reception interferences. In this instance, the AM radio reception is temporarily automatically interrupted.
