- except CODE (489a) Airmatic (semi-active air suspension)
Component Identification:
Displaying fault and system messages
The rear axle level control system control unit sends a relevant message to the instrument cluster (A1) via the CAN class C. The instrument cluster (A1) displays the message on the multifunction display (A1p13).
Errors are divided into different priority classes based on whether or not the driver can acknowledge and click away the error message. The error is no longer displayed in the instrument cluster (A1) if the relevant bits in the CAN combination block are reset (e.g. if the vehicle level is no longer critical). If several errors occur simultaneously, the rear axle level control system control unit sends several error messages. Messages that are displayed in red are accompanied by a short chime when the message first appears on the multifunction display (A1p13).
Display priorities:
P 1: Message is always displayed and cannot be clicked away. The message remains active for as long as an appropriate CAN bit is set. The message "Stop car too low" appears in red and a warning chime sounds.
P 2: Message can only be overwritten by a P1 message and the driver can click the message away. The message remains active for as long as an appropriate CAN bit is set. The message "Go to garage" appears in white. A warning chime does not sound.
