GF80.20-P-4009TA Automatic Locking, Function
Component Identification:
Function requirements
^ Automatic locking activated.
^ Speed greater than 3 km/h (rear door is locked).
^ Speed greater than 15 km/h (doors are locked).
Operating procedure
The "Automatic locking" function locks the vehicle, except the fuel filler flap.
As soon as the vehicle speed exceed the limit value of approx. 3 km/h, the rear door is locked, the doors of the passenger compartment at approx. 15 km/h
This is accomplished when the EIS control module (N73) recognizes that the limit speed is exceeded by evaluating the speed signal.
In this case, the EIS control module (N73) transmits the command Locking" to the rear door control module (N111) and left front door control module (N69/1), right front (N69/2), left rear (N69/3), right rear (N69/4) via the CAN interior compartment. This activates closing of the doors and rear door by actuating the right front door CL motor (M14/5), left front (M14/6), rear door (M14/7), left rear door (M14/8) and right rear (M14/9).
The vehicle can be unlocked again by opening a door from inside or with the interior central locking switch and the ATA function display, if the vehicle speed is below the limit value.
If the vehicle is unlocked with the interior central locking and the ATA function display switch after automatic locking, the vehicle remains unlocked even at speeds above the limit value. The initial state is resumed by opening a door or by switching circuit 15 on and off again.
If, after automatic locking, a door is opened and closed again, while the vehicle speed is above the threshold speed this door is locked again after it is closed.
The automatic locking function can be deactivated or activated:
^ via the operating menu in the instrument cluster (A1)
^ via the STAR DIAGNOSIS
