AR82.35-P-6000T Remove/Install Windshield Washer Fluid Reservoir
Shown With Code (600a) Headlamp Cleaning System:
DANGER:
- Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.
- Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 degree C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles.
- Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.
1 Disconnect ground cable of battery
2 Open engine hood and raise to vertical position
3 Reduce pressure in cooling system
NOTE: To do so rotate coolant expansion reservoir sealing cover to notch "1" and then lock again.
4.1 Remove housing on combination filter
4.2 Remove housing on dust filter
5 Remove spreading rivet (2)
6 Unclip covering (3) using a screwdriver on the wheelhouse liner
7 Pull filler neck (4) out of washer fluid reservoir (1)
NOTE: Installation: Replace seal of filler neck (4) on washer fluid reservoir (1)
8 Detach vent hose (5) from filler neck (4) and remove filler neck (4)
9 Detach both coolant hoses (6) with damps (7)
See "Special Tools" given below.
10 Undo hose clamps(8) and detach both coolant hoses (6) of the washer fluid heater (9)
NOTE: Installation: Check coolant hoses (6) and hose clamps (8) for damage, replace if necessary.
DANGER:
- Risk of death. Death may result if vehicle slips or topples from the lifting platform.
- Align vehicle between the columns of the hydraulic hoist and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
11 Lift vehicle on lifting platform.
12 Remove right front wheel
- Wheel bolt :130 N.m
13 Remove rear fender liner in right front fender
14 Use a screwdriver to open the hose bracket (10) on the washer fluid reservoir (1)
15 Disconnect electrical connector (11)
16 Unplug electrical connector (16)
17 Disconnect electrical connector (12) from washer fluid reservoir (1)
NOTE: To do so unlock the retainer tab on the electrical connector (12) and remove the electrical connector (12) downwards from the washer fluid reservoir (1)
18 Disconnect the washer fluid hose from the HCS pump (M5/2)
NOTE:
- To do so press the locking clamps together (arrow A). Collect washer fluid which flows out.
- Installation: Replace sealing ring on hose connector.
19 Disconnect the washer fluid hose from the windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1)
NOTE: Collect washer fluid which flows out.
20 Detach connector hose (13) from washer fluid reservoir (1)
NOTE:
- To do so press locking clamps together (arrow B). Collect washer fluid which flows out.
- Installation: replace sealing ring on hose connector.
21 Detach electrical connector on windshield washer fluid level indicator switch (S42)
22 Unscrew nuts (14)
CAUTION: Installation:Replace self-locking nut (14).
23 Remove washer fluid reservoir (1) from fender
NOTE
- To this end tilt the washer fluid reservoir (1) downwards towards the vehicle center.
- Installation:Ensure that the supports (15) are properly seated.
24 Install in the reverse order
25 Fill washer fluid reservoir (1)
26 Correct engine coolant level and check cooling system for leaks.
27 Perform function check on windshield washer system
NOTE: Switch on the ignition and press the combination switch to check the function of the windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1). A sufficient quantity of washer fluid must exit at the washer nozzles.
28 Perform function check on headlamp cleaning system
NOTE: By pressing the HCS [SRA] switch check the function of the HCS pump (M5/2). A sufficient quantity of washer fluid must exit at the washer nozzles.
