Windshield Washer Pump: Service and Repair

AR82.35-P-6002T Remove/Install Windshield Washer System Pump







1 Disconnect ground cable of battery

DANGER:
- Risk of death. Death may result if vehicle slips or topples from the lifting platform.
- Align vehicle between the columns of the hydraulic hoist and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

2 Lift vehicle on lifting platform.
3 Remove right front wheel
- Wheel bolt:130 N.m

4 Remove rear fender liner in right front fender
5 Disconnect electrical connector (1)
6 Disconnect electric connector (2)
7 Disconnect the washer fluid hose from the windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1)

NOTE: Collect washer fluid which flows out.

8 Unclip bracket (4) from washer fluid reservoir (5)
9 Use a mounting wedge to push off the windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1) from the washer fluid reservoir (5)

NOTE:
- Note correct installation position.
- Installation: Install new gasket (6)

10 Install in the reverse order
11 Fill washer fluid reservoir (5)
12 Perform function check on windshield washer system

NOTE: Switch on the ignition and press the combination switch to check the function of the windshield washer fluid pump (M5/1). A sufficient quantity of washer fluid must exit at the washer nozzles.
