Information sheet on performance tuning of diesel engines

Performance tuning measures can influence the service life of the drive train (engine, transmission, propeller shaft, differential etc.) considerably. Mercedes-Benz recommends removal of the performance tuning kit. Otherwise engine damage can occur while driving so that the drive is suddenly no longer available, e.g. during an overtaking process. Furthermore the steerability and brake force of the vehicle can be impaired with the result that you cause an accident and may injure yourself and other persons in the process.

A performance tuning kit for diesel engines is found in your vehicle. Such tuning measures impair the service life and function of your diesel engine, in particular the components high pressure pump, injectors, mechanical engine systems (pistons, connecting rod bearings and main bearings, etc.) and diesel particulate filter.

Due to property damage which may arise and the dangers described we recommend that you remove the performance tuning kit which has been found in the vehicle.
Mercedes-Benz recommends that you have this work carried out in a qualified specialist workshop, e.g. at a Mercedes-Benz support point.

This information sheet is to be handed over to the customer and a note on the handover included on the invoice provided to the customer.
