GF82.10-P-2011TM Headlight Switch Off Delay Function

Headlamp delayed switch-off
Function requirements
^ Function activated via instrument cluster (A1)
^ Engine switched off
^ Rain/light sensor (B38/2) signals "Darkness"

With United States of America and Canada vehicles, the headlamp switch-off delay (SWA) only becomes active if the rotary light switch (S1) is in the "Auto" position.

Function
After switching off the engine, left front fog lamp (E5/1), right front fog lamp (E5/2), left license plate lamp (E19/1) and right license plate lamp (E19/2) are switched on for a period of approx. 60 s. The opening of a door, of the tailgate or of the rear-end door causes the function sequence to restart. Once all doors are closed again, the function is triggered again for approx. 15 s.
The information "SWA active" is sent to the instrument cluster by the driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).

Actuations
^ The driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module actuates the left front fog lamp.
^ The front passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11) actuates the right front fog lamp.
^ With model 211.0, the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) actuates the license plate lamps.
^ With model 211.2, the rear-end door control unit (N111) actuates the license plate lamps.

Function abort
^ Circuit 15C ON
^ Triggering of an alarm by the anti-theft alarm system (ATA [EDW]) (with code (551) Anti-theft alarm system (ATA [EDW]))

Security illumination
Function requirements
^ Function activated via instrument cluster
^ Rain/light sensor signals "Darkness"
^ Rotary light switch in "Auto" position (with United States of America and Canada vehicles)

Function
When unlocking the vehicle using the transmitter key (A8/1), the standing lamps function is activated for a period of approx. 40 s. Additionally, the front fog lamps and the license plate lamps are switched on.

Function abort
^ Circuit 15C ON
^ Driver door opened

Actuations
^ The driver-side SAM control unit actuates the left standing and parking lamp (E1e3) and the left front fog lamp.
^ The passenger-side SAM control unit actuates the right standing and parking lamp (E2e3) and the right front fog lamp.

^ With model 211.0, the rear SAM control unit actuates the following components:
- Outer left taillamp, parking lamp, rear fog lamp (E3e2)
- Inner left taillamp, rear fog lamp (E3e5)
- Outer right taillamp, parking lamp, rear fog lamp (E4e2)
- Inner right taillamp, rear fog lamp (E4e5)
- License plate lamps

^ With model 211.2, the rear SAM control unit actuates the following components:
- Left stop lamp, taillamp and parking lamp (E3e9)
- Right stop lamp, taillamp and parking lamp (E4e9)

^ With model 211.2, the rear-end door control unit actuates the license plate lamps.
