AR03.20-P-4351-02TI Tightening Procedure For Crankshaft Bearing Caps











Always maintain work sequence to prevent damaging engine.
1 Moisten the thread and head contact surface of the bolts of the crankshaft bearing caps with oil.
2 Tighten crankshaft bearing cap bolts on crankshaft bearing block to first stage torque according to tightening instructions.
3 Tighten crankshaft housing side bolts on crankshaft bearing cap to first stage torque according to tightening instructions.
This centers the crankshaft bearing cap in the cylinder crankcase.
4 Completely tighten crankshaft bearing cap bolts on crankshaft block according to tightening instructions.
5 Loosen crankshaft bearing housing side bolts on crankshaft bearing cap again.
This releases any tension present..
6 Completely tighten side bolts of crankshaft housing on crankshaft bearing cap according to tightening torque.





7 Turn the crankshaft.
Check for unobstructed movement.
